I have a Rockford 9020 head unit that I bought for the boat but did not install.

So today I wanted to bench test some speakers so I hooked it up to a battery, jl 500 amp to a sub and the 9020 to a pair of speakers. Everything worked but there was a beeping sound through the speakers every second while playing a cd. It matched the track time on the display. If you adjust the volume up or down the beep stays at a constant level.

Any Ideas???

that is the low volatge beep for the rockford marine headunits. I may still have the schematic for which trace to cut to eliminate it. I will look for it and send it to you

Low voltage?? You mean the fact that the 2 speakers I used to test the headunit/amp/sub were a pair of home stereo BIC 10" 3 ways from the '80s would be the problem?[smilie=crazy]

no, those things aren't too good at using battery power. They prefer alternator power. Was your battery charged all the way?

I have a MB Quart, (NRA-450 I think) that does the same thing...even when the boat is running. They said to send it in and they'd take care of it for me but that was while it was still under the factory warrenty. Since I procrastinated I'd like to know how to cut it also. So Christian if you find that can you post it up please?

I would like that to. My Rockford does it as well if I don't have a full charge.

I have a couple of them, do not have the extension cables, they are still bundled in the boat and would be a PITA to remove, but I do have a couple of the remotes

DO you want em?

PM me your address and I will send them off next week
