Anybody know how to get mold off of a boat cover? I am not sure what the material is, but fells somewhat similar to a drop cloth that a painter would use!! I guess this is what I get for buying the cover without seeing it!! [smilie=450.gif] The guy i bought it from said the cover was in good condition but had some spider shit on it..... I'm no doctor but i think the spider had the shits...LOL Any suggestions would be appreatiated, because as the cover looks now it would be to embarassing to put on the boat..
Thanks, Tim

I would try some Oxy-Clean,
Bleach diluted with water might do it too, but Oxy-Clean would be less harsh.
Maybe just lay it out in the driveway, and use Oxy-clean and water mix, and a scrub brush.

I'd try Oxi Clean IN THE SHADE..............It seems like the longer it stays moist, the better it works.

There are a number of mildew stain removers on the market, and most of them will work to some degree.
If you have really, really, bad mildew and it's a question of getting it out or throwing the cover away, get some Tilex, spray on there, and let it sit for a while. I have let it sit for as long as 1/2 day to get relly bad stain out.
Now understand, this is REALLY hard on the material. This stuff is a mild acid.
Rinse off as thoroughly as you possibly can.
Don't expect stitching to last more than a couple of years afterward, if that much.

Thanks again, I need to get to work on this cover. The boat is on the hoist with a cockpit cover on it and the rest of the boat is very, very dirty. Thanks for the advice!! [smilie=042.gif]
