Mississippi Poker Run 6/26 - 6/27

Hey Everyone, Sorry I've been off the site. I lost my damn signon and just found it today. Yep, I was too lazy to make another one. :oops:

I'm just going to invite y'all to a Fun Run on June 26th and 27th, with a little Poker Game thrown in. It's just to much to do with a helicopter and all the goofy permits. If it turns out to be a hit, then next year we can turn it up.

We can use the ramp at my marina for 20 bucks a boat. Hands are 25 bucks a piece. All the money goes into the run.

Destination is Alton Marina in Alton, IL. The city is having a block part that weekend with four or five live bands on the street. Party, Party, Party!

I have two or three stops planned. All cards are sealed until we pull them Saturday afternoon. I can get some finger foods thrown in if the turnout is good. Maybe even some T-Shirts.

You guys let me know what ya think. I will be more than happy to make arrangements for everyone.

We need to be in the water by 11am Saturday Morning.

Thanks BD. There is a meeting June 3rd at our marina. It seems word gets around fast. There are two or three marinas interested in sponsoring the run. I don't know what that means, but I guess I will find out. The only thing I figure is they want to sell gas, cuss we ain't going to spend our day hanging out in a marina. :roll:

There are a lot of folks that just want to see and HEAR the boats.

I have to postpone this run until the river decides to stop rising. :evil:

The river has been running high for the last three weeks, and it's coming up another foot this weekend. We went out yesterday, and it wasn't that bad, but there were still a lot of big logs that could do some real damage if a group of boats are running together, churning water and making them invisible. And there is more rain coming the next two days.

As much as I would really like this to happen, I just don't think the ole river is going to cooperate. This run is best suited to happen in July, when the river is back to normal pool. However, I have made plans to attend two other poker runs in that month. I think I will extend an invitation some time in August to do a Long distance run North. I now Grumpy Bullet and his buds like to do the river once a year, so maybe that will work out.

I was just wondering about this today. We were out for a little while on Saturday and there is still some junk floating. I think there are some folks on here from Peoria, maybe a run up the Illinois, just a thought.
