Brett,I'm thinking about having u lab the props on my 386.The props are labbed on my 31 and it made a huge diference(5mph).I had an ear break once and I know this is the sacrifice of labbing the props.I'm running 85 and can't get anymore out of the 386 w/triple 500 carb's.I'm spinning 30's at 51-5200rpm.Is it worth labbing the props? How much to lab the 3 and what would your "guesstimate" be for mph gain? Thanks,Mike

Hello,

With only 150 rpm to work with, the gains would most likely only amount to 1-2 mph. You would also gain acceleration and a noticable change in the smoothness of the "feel" Labbing will give you. The cost for the 3 props would be $960.

If you decided to go to 32's, you would see some additional performance at cruise speeds and top end (3.5 ish on the top). However the throttle reponse in the middle would suffer slightly.

Your current rpm @ WOT with a "standard" load is critical in the decision [smilie=042.gif]
