What do you reccomend. I am going to try to get it in the water in the next few weeks. I am thinking a 26 or a 28 4-blade or maybe a 30. But I think that will be too much. I have a friend with a 26 4Blade that I am going to try would that be good to start with?

Specs are below:

1992 24 Outlaw
1050 Holley 92-90 jets
502 stock forged internals
B&M 174 Supercharger
Bravo drive.

Thanks for the help, Brian

You will be making about 500hp with what you have done. Start with a 26" Bravo 1.

Obviously without some type of baseline, we are only speculating. However, I think 28 will get us close. Run the 26 and lets see if you are in the 5000 rpm range. We won't want to run too much higher. Once you have a legitimate baseline, we have a variety of test propellers we can send you to dial in your boat.

Make sure to put some high octane fuel in before you test. Fuel can loose up to a half point in octane a month. Figure out what you've got in your tank and add 5-10 gallons of race fuel.

But I will not know the results till tomorrow but I will let you know.

Brett,

Ok here are the results. 5000RPM at 3/4 throttle 75-78 MPH with a 26 Bravo I 4blade.

I really havn't had it all the way open yet. Want to give the motor a chance to set in and get rid of the old fuel. I would assume it should run about 5000-5200 on a 26 Bravo I 4blade at WOT and I think thats the one I need. The only concern that I have with thie one is when I get off the throttle the boat kind of wobbles till it settles back in the water. Is that normal becuse of the lift? So should I try a 27 0r 28 and see what it does or is the 26 the one to keep? If so I need to but one from you so can you give me a price? I also have a 21P Mirage for trade if you'll take a few bucks off for it if not I will just sell it on Ebay.

Thanks, Brian

I know we spoke but to keep every one else up to speed.

I think the 28 B1 is the next propeller to try. We have test props we send out in box stock configuration to keep to test with up to 15 days ( we like to get them back faster if possible). We learn from the props and there are no strings attached.

When the motor is broken in and the head gasket issue is taken care of, we can do some testing.

As far as the handling of the boat when power is cut, I often tell people to try wetting more of the hull surface in a controlled method using the trim button first instead of the throttle. If you trim in with the drive before you cut power, the boat will maintain a more stable attitude and be more forgiving. Cutting the throttle at a quick pace from WOT, drops too much of the keel into the water and a uncomfortable or even dangerous condition can occur. The faster you are going the worse this situation can be. Some boats are worse than others.

Thanks,
