I have a Playcraft 27' Pontoon with a 496magHO with a bravo three and 24 pitch props. Would there be any advantage to having the props labbed etc. Thanks for any suggestions--Bill

It has been awhile but I think it was running about 54 mph gps at 4800 RPM I could trim higher and get close to 5000 but props must be washing out at that rpm because my speed dropped. At cruise with a normal load the speed about matches the RPM 3000 at 30MPH

Labbing Bravo 3 propellers works but, not as well as some other propellers.
The biggest gains from Labbing B3 props for speed is the acceleration and the smoothness you get out of the props. We can pull an additional 100-200 rpm with these props during Labbing. Some speed will follow (1-2 mph). This is the result when looking to gain rpm as in your situation of being a little low in the rpm band.
When we bump up the trailing edges with specific cups and then do the correct thickness curve adjustments we typically gain more speed but the rpm's stay the same. To do this we need you to be in the 5050-5100 rpm range.
If you are looking for strong acceleration and a touch more on the top, we can help you out.
Thanks for the question.

Does anyone know what props Jim Dorris at Playcraft runs on his fast pontoon boats? I am trying to dial in my 2900 custom. Was told it would run 74.3 @6100 rpms when I was buying from Midwest Boat, But It won't happen with the props that came with it. 25 tempest + @5700. Porpoises like crazy even at neutral trim. Propshaft was 2" below bottom w/ 10" setback jackplates.
Thanks!
