Yes if you dig fast cool boats, but party cove is a little blunted that saturday because half the spectators end up at Shooters to watch race. Still an action packed weekend, great fun, crowds, ect. [smilie=657.gif]

We always go to the Shootout. Always interesting to see how many people don't know how to use their anchor. Or think that a little mushroom anchor will hold their 30 footer.

I think the people watching is more fun that watching the boats. They didn't come down very often and it's kind of boring. Any weekend at the lake is a good weekend! [smilie=061.gif] This one brings a crowd.

Hey Eddie, Will you run your outlaw again this year? What is the minimum boat length, for this year, thinking about running the 27 for the Hell of it.
Last year was my 1st year at the Shootout. I will not miss another one...God willing! We alrready have the grandparents lined out to baby sit for that weekend. Evereyone tied together in half of the main channel near Shooters is similar to a big party cove in the main channel with the added bonus of Sweeeet go fast boats roaring by!! [smilie=071.gif]

I didn't run this race, I did the one at Cottonwood last year because no one else was in my class.

I thought I was mixed up after I posted.
The Shootout friggin rocks!! That is one of the best weekends to go. Actually the main channel along the course takes on party cove look and feel.
I think the limit is 24' isn't it? They did that to keep the drag boats out.

How does the stereo contest work?
Loudest without distortion?
I missed that last year or is that new?
Lock up your boat if you are staying at the Ledges! We stayed their last year arriving on Friday afternoon...when I hopped in the boat to take a cruise to the dam early Saturday morning with two of my friends (without the gals) I was a little shocked to say the least when I turned my stereo on and there was no thump to it!! Peaked in my cuddy cabin and saw a mess of wires lying in the cuddy floor. Someone stole my two 10'' subs, amp & box! I was in the covered dock furthest into the cove which has a parking lot just above it with steps. Several other boaters had stuff stolen such as one guy had his large cooler with all his beverages in it taken. Severel other people I spoke to had foot prints on their boats. Just FYI...don't leave any valuables in the boat!! Probably some locals that know their are going to be several renters there. The condos themselves were very nice and obvioulsy located right where the Shootout takes place. Good Luck! We will be staying at the families condo at 3mm (Harbour Towne) this year and making the trek! [smilie=1062.gif]

btw every body entering give me the names of ur boats and maybee i can get my gal to get footage of u too we have the perfect view from the ledges........ c ya [smilie=657.gif]
I'm sure it was just one of those one in a million things...I too have been boating for a few years all over the place rarely locking up and have never had a problem! I also liked the Ledges condos - they were set up nice back in the cove and the covered docks were literally a hop skip & jump away! I also think most boaters would not do this...that is why I figured some locals by land! Anyhow, just letting everyone know to be careful; it must have been a fluke because their were very phatt and expensive boats all around worth a lot more than mine. Oh well, I ended up buying 12'' subs this time...so it all worked out!! [smilie=1074.gif]

Sounds like a contingency from MN will be in attendance (hopefully me too). MNoutlaw just told me he is putting the plug in the Outlaw before leaving home, encasing her in Explosion proof Kevlar and bringing his Badge and Creds to get him out of a BWI.
If he makes it past the first day, we should have a good time.
