Need to get some feedback. Sea Esta had orginally brought up meeting this summer at LOTO in one of the coves at the 28mm. He now wonders if that might be too far for some people by water. Thinking somewhere between 21mm - 28mm. Or am I wrong and farther is better, i.e. calmer water? Do any of you know of good coves for a large group to meet? Where would you be inclined to go? Weather permitting, we are planning on scoping out coves this weekend. Anyone planning on being down, weather permitting?

There is a great cove at about the 27.5 to 28mm. It sits almost parallel to the main channel on the east side so it is pretty wake free and long enough for a number of boats.

What about back in Lynn Creek at the 31??

I agree. Linn Creek cove at the 31 is a great place to meet. Usually a lot boats rafted together back there....

Sounds like we can all stop and get a Rum Runner at Captains Galley before we tie off in the cove... [smilie=071.gif]

Is that the cove right before the bluffs? Also known as "Pirate's Cove?"
My parents used to have a place across the chanel on Shawnee Bend that had a great view of those bluffs.

Anyways, if that's the cove you're talking about, I really like it

Sounds like fun... I would rather keep it away from the traffic. [smilie=050.gif]

Sounds like fun Most people stay at or around the 20mm anyway don't they? Not to far to travel.

Except for those of us that live at the 8 or 10 MM. 31 sounds good to me, however.

kinda far for those that live at the 600MM (texas)

hehehehe!!!!

Hey but we can always come up and crash the cove a few times a year!

As long as its not in a hard to get to area. ( not fond of riding in 6' wakes)

Wow! Sounds like most people want to give down to our end of the lake.

Hopefully, we'll have a chance to check out the different coves this weekend. Maybe on Sunday the weather will hold out.

Is the 31mm cove you are talking about by Pier 31 or the one where Fish & Co. is? Or something entirely different?

The Fish cove is great or you can continue past this cove to the end of Linn Creek cove. People usually hang out in both places. Probably less boat wake action back by the Fish though.

Checked out some areas last Sunday and we about froze my butts off. If everyone is willing to travel down to 31, it is a great cove. Plus, only about 12 miles for us. [smilie=071.gif] Pit, maybe you and Nancy can hitch a ride!
